Welcome! This is Jailbait in Hotpants! The title is a phrase I used to describe Nightwing's former career as Robin. I am a relatively new comics reader, and as I go along sometimes I read things too hilarious or awesome to not share. So I share them with you, and hope you enjoy!

Kid Kyle

The next few posts are going to be from Young Justice: Sins of Youth. It's a cute 12 part story in which the Justice League become teenagers, the JSA become kids, and Young Justice become adults. The original members of the Teen Titans are unaffected. This all happens to help the adults better understand the teen superheroes whom had been getting a bad rap recently. It's full of hilarity and I highly recommend taking a look. All of my posts are going to be from Young Justice - Sins of Youth #4.

Kyle Rayner is fun to watch in this series. His Green Lantern costume changes every panel you see him. It's done well and I didn't even notice it at first. It's a fun way of showing how his personality manifests as a teenager. Unfortunately for him, the rest of the Justice League doesn't think it's that big of a change. Poor Kyle.

Green Lantern Graffiti

Today's humorous moment comes from JLU 32. Now, the majority of this issue told me one thing: Guy Gardner is a whiny annoying little know-it all punk who needs to grow up badly. Now, to be fair, this is not main series cannon, so for all I know, he could be completely different in the main comics. But as it stands now, Guy Gardner can die in a hole - John Stewart and Kyle Rayner are the lanterns for me!

But, he did do one thing that endeared him to me slightly. And that is using his ring to graffiti on the walls of Darkseid's pallace. Why? For funsies. And seriously, pissing off a being of that kind of power in such a juvinile and hillarious way deserves major props.

Richie Rich

Some days I wonder, could there be a Batman without Bruce being ridiculously wealthy? Then I see moments like this and realize, no, there really couldn't. And if there were, he wouldn't be nearly as awesome.

Awkward Hilarity

So, today's post is going to be a two parter with tomorrow's post. Both funny moments come from the Superman/Batman Annual 1. This chronicles Superman and Batman's first team up/ meeting each others' secret identities for the first time. I don't think this particular issue is cannon, but it's pretty hilarious anyway. Really, the entire issue is full of awesome comedic gold and random silly bizzare crack, which made it difficult to pick just one moment to share. So I picked two! One from the beginning, and one from the end (the end one you'll see tomorrow).
Oh Clark and Brucie, your awkward bro-we're-totally-straight-manly-men bed sharing moment is truly amusing. Especially since we all know you totally have the hots for each other. Fanfiction never lies right? But what's even more hilarious is the whole "how do I get the other guy to leave so I can secretly put on my spendex to do some super heroics" bit. I love how Bruce is eventually like "fuck this shit, tranqulizers time!" The realization of identities followed by property destruction just seals the deal for me. What a great issue.

Deadly Disco

This has got to be one of the best combinations of the green lantern ring and kryptonite I have ever seen. And they say John Stewart* isn't creative with his power ring! Bah!

* I am of course talking about the TV series John Stewart who was a marine and not comic John Stewart who was an architect.

Space cabby!?

Really, I can't think of any funny comments for this one. It just says it all by itself.

Nightwing's Mullet

So, as some of you may know, I just recently started reading the Nighwing comics. And I must say, that first issue was like a time machine back to the late 80s early 90s in regards to fashion. The biggest example of this is in how they drew Dick Grayson himself. Big, muscular, harry arms, and with a mullet!
But this isn't just any mullet folks. Oh no, this is a magic mullet that within seconds can become a super sleek and sexy ponytail in a matter of seconds when Dicky transforms into Nightwing!
Maybe being able to apply large amounts of hair gel in a short amount of time is his superpower? Anyway, the ponytail gets cut off fairly quickly by a bad guy, so the mullet is unceremoniously discarded into the annals of history where it belongs. Besides, what was Nightwing doing with long hair anyway when his specialty is hand to had combat? tsk tsk

Pros and Cons

Sorry I haven't updated in a while, I had a crazy long commission for Grinnell College to work on. Anywhoo, this particular piece of amusement comes from Superman Birthright #6. Perry White is contemplating the pros and cons for firing Lois Lane. It equals about two seconds of comedic gold and really helps solidify and define Lois' character in a fun and unique way.
I especially like #5. Hilarity.

The post that started it all

or Why I like Dick Grayson as Nightwing better than as Batman....

Because as Batman, he has to wear a cape. And then we don't get wonderfully hot and beefcaky images like this one from Secret Six #9:

What's especially great about this pose for Nightwing, is that it's one that is traditionally reserved for female characters because you can see both T&A in it. So not only is it crazy sexy, but it's subversive too! Excellent.

And look, even Nightwing doesn't like wearing the Batman cape! He complains about it in Batman&Robin #2.

Yes, balance. I'm sure that was your reason for ditching the cape. And not at all because you needed something new to distract the bad guys with since your new costume actually had pants. Your days as jailbait in hotpants were over, but now you have a fantastically sculpted rear to display. And now it's all over. Stupid cape.

*So, this was the post that made me decide to dedicate a seperate blog to Superhero shenanigans and musings. It also inspired the title. This also marks the end of re-posts from my personal blog. Now, on to the new material!

My Girlfriend is Pregnant

Today's Humorous DC Comics Moment comes from Nightwing 25. Nightwing and Robin are doing a training exercise where they go around blindfolded doing things like, jumping onto speeding train cars and then trying to balance on one leg while they talk about their lives. It is during this that Robin says the one phrase that perhaps no big brother or close family member wants to hear. Nighwing almost falls off the train. It's hilarious. In other news, I had my first day of work at Gamer's Asylum today. It went pretty well, I should say.... despite there being no customers due to torrential rains. Meh, suits me.

Pants-less Proof

HAHAHA! At long last, I have definitive proof that the original Robin costume did in fact involve no-pants rather than flesh colored tights as some would have you believe. How do I know this? Well, in this flashback scene from Teen Titans East, Dick forgot to shave before he went out superheroing.
Awesome. Kinda weird that it took Batman two Robins to figure out he should probably give them pants. Tim Drake was the lucky one.

I found this image on the Shirtless Superheroes blog. Plenty of beefcake, if that's your taste.

Terrible Lex Luthor

My sister and I found this at Picture is Unrelated and felt the need to share it with you.
I'm sure it's originally from some Superman themed book geared towards helping children learn math or some such. But that doesn't make it any less hilarious. Oh Lex Luthor, how far you've fallen. From Billionare super genius, to cake thief. Now that is terrible.

Boot to the Head

I haven't posted a comic humor strip in a while, and felt it was high time to remedy that. Today's humorous moment is a frame from Justice League Unlimited #26. Comedic gold.... comedic Booster Gold, that is*

*I am fully aware how completely un-funny that was, but I said it anyway

Blue Beetle is Bored

This comedic moment comes from Justice League Unlimited #5. Blue Beetle has been stuck on monitor duty and is really bored. How he decides to pass the time is quite hilarious.

Okay, I'm sorry, but I would NEVER touch Batman's food. Unless, ya know, I had a death wish.
I like the implication that he's already tried on Wonder Woman's costume. Oh Blue Beetle, I'm sure you'd make a fabulous drag queen.

Lancelot Lookalike

This weeks* humorous comic moment come from Justice League Unlimited #9. In it, the Justice League has gone back in time to help King Arthur fight Morgan LeFay. There is a brief running gag that I find hilarious. So I decided to share it with you all.Say it with me now: awkward! And it comes back again later during the battle.

I have a few more pages from JLU that I find quite hilarious that I just haven't gotten around to posting yet, but rest assured, they will come soon.

*I know I don't update once a week, but "weekly" sounded better than "whenever the f*ck I get around to it"

Emo Batman is Emo & Flash states the obvious

Two comic gems for you today, both from issues of the Justice League Adventures.

This first one is from Issue #11.

I love how everyone except for Batman is in a heroic pose, and Batman's at the bottom doing a sneaky vampire/villian pose. One of the few times Batman has completely failed at being bad ass.

This one is from Issue #31.
I adore the way they drew the Flash's mouth. It's so perfect for the line and the character. Well done.

Pink Kryptonite

This is my last "gay superman" post for a while, I swear! I haven't actually read this comic, but desperately want to. I found it on the intarwebs and had to re-post it because it's hilarious! Itcomes from Supergirl (Vol 2) #79. Context from the Wikipedia entry on Kryptonite:
"[Pink Kryptonite is from] an alternate timeline in a 2003 Supergirl storyline by Peter David, this bizarre variety of Kryptonite apparently turned heterosexual Kryptonians temporarily and stereotypically gay; it was seen in just one panel, with Superman giving flattering compliments to Jimmy Olsen about his wardrobe and decorative sense. It spoofs the more "innocent times" of the Silver Age (Lois Lane is depicted in this story as not understanding what's gotten into Superman)."
Just to repeat - Pink Kryptonite turns Superman gay.... wooo hooo! Like I said, I really want to read this story. Lulz! So if you happen to find it, share please?

To The MOOOON!

So, I have more Superman and Batman hilarity for you. This little episode takes place in Superman/Batman #44. It's a bit longer of a joke than the prior two I've posted (this actually takes place before the last one), but is truly worth checking out. I could say more, but honestly, this speaks for itself. Enjoy!

Pirate vs. Ninja

Today's Batman/Superman hilarity will attempt to answer the age old question, is Batman a pirate or a ninja? I know most of you would automatically say "He's a ninja, DUH!" But today's post, which comes from Superman/Batman #44, may make you think twice.

Context: Superman got some kryptonite in the eye (ouch) and has recovered under Alfred's super-surgeon/bulter care. Meanwhile, Batman's off beating up petty criminals, becuase too much time with Superman makes him grumpy. On to the clip!

Now, the real question is... does Batman really have a pirate ship? He is Bruce Wayne, and who knows what kinda crazy random things billionares happen to have. For all we know, his parents could have bought him one when he was small. But regardless of whether or not he has one or not, him making fun of Superman's eyepatch is hilarious.

Alfred Calls Shotgun

As much as I love Superman and Batman separately, they do their finest work together. Our first amusing moment comes from Superman/Batman #2. Superman and Batman were buried alive! But then Batman exploded them into a sewer, using Superman as a shield. They are now stumbling along the sewer using each other for support (btw Supes has a kryptonite bullet lodged in his chest).

Click on the thumbnail to fullview!

For those interested, I highly recommend the Superman/Batman comics. They're well written, and a different artist does each plotline, which is pretty cool.
